Kasos is the southernmost island of the Dodecanese islands. It is located between Karpathos and Crete. It is a mountainous island with a wild landscape and a few sandy beaches. All the inhabitants of the island live in the main villages of Fry (port and capital of the island), Agia Marina, Poli, Arvanitohori and Panagi. The villages are comprised of small white houses, old mansions and cobblestoned streets. The houses look simple on the exterior, but inside you will see beautiful and ornate furniture, decorative textiles - handiwork of local women or brought from other parts of the world by sailors. After all, Kasos has a long maritime history and tradition in shipbuilding. Recently Kasos started becoming more touristic. It is the ideal destination for those looking for an escape from everyday life.
