Naxos is situated in the center of Aegean Sea and is the largest and most fertile island in the Cyclades. The landscape is comprised of high mountains, fertile valleys, rivers, caves and beautiful beaches. The local economy is mainly based on agriculture. Naxos is an island with many interesting sights. According to Mythology this was the island of Dionysus, the God of wine and Ariadne, the daughter of the Cretan king Minos. The island is well known for its sculptures. One of the most well-known is the lions of Delos.
