"Choirosfagia", "giaprakia"and diples"

The inhabitants of the Dodecanese honor the traditional pork meat for the days of the Festives, while in several villages of Rhodes, the slaughter of the pigs that have been raised by the families was made in groups and with a special ceremony. The traditional "giaprakia" are not missing from the festive table as well as ‘diples’.

"Bouloustrina"

This is a very old custom of the New Year's Day, where young children visit their relatives on the first day of the year and receive money from them as a gift that is called ‘bouloustrina’.
