Wedding, Thrace

Among the countless Thracian traditions of marriage, the characteristic is the "kouliki", that is, the brioche (sweet bread) of the wedding made by the bride's father. Her friends make the symbol of the cross on her with basil leaves on her head and then they break the "kouliki" on the bride's head and hand it to the invitees. The single ones take a piece and put it under the pillow to dream of the one who will marry them!
